OCD is a Pain!

Okay! you may as well know this about me right up front...I have just a touch of OCD. I have stayed up way past my bedtime reading Elder Dalin H. Oaks' address given recently at BYU-Idaho. He has received much "bad press" over one little remark, and having an "inquiring mind" I wanted to read the entire article. So I did. You can read it too, should you so desire. It can be found at http://newsroom.lds.org/ldsnewsroom/eng/news-release-stories/religious-freedom. Wow! That is a really long address!
Anyway, it is a very good article and addresses a big concern that I have...the gradual erosion of religious freedom in the United States. Let me just quote the next to the last paragraph. Elder Oaks said: "Religious values and political realities are so interlinked in the origin and perpetuation of this nation that we cannot lose the influence of Christianity in the public square without seriously jeopardizing our freedoms. I maintain that this is a political fact, well qualified for argument in the public square by religious people whose freedom to believe and act must always be protected by what is properly called our 'First Freedom,' the free exercise of religion."
I am concerned that our religious freedoms are under attack on many fronts. And that is what is keeping me awake tonight. Maybe now that I have expressed myself I can go to sleep.
Good night, all!
